Website Quality Assurance & Accessibility Monitoring

The N.C. Department of Information Technology actively works toward creating a safer, responsible and inclusive digital future for all residents of North Carolina. Our Website Quality Assurance and Accessibility Monitoring service leverages the Monsido SaaS-based platform, which includes a browser extension that provides website accessibility and compliance-level information.

Monsido is essential for ensuring compliance by helping to prioritize efforts that align with the latest WCAG 2.1 and ADA Section 508 standards.

The tool simplifies web governance by highlighting on a page accessibility issues with links, images and text. Users can easily identify accessibility issues in bulk with just a simple click. Once identified, content providers can log in to the content management system to correct identified issues.

The tool continually scans public-facing websites to also identify issues related to search engine optimization and content quality. It also generates a report highlighting areas that need improvement. The report includes information on each issue, the page on which it was found, the severity of the issue and suggestions on how to address it.

Features

NCDIT's Website Quality Assurance & Accessibility Monitoring service uses the Monsido SaaS platform, which includes a cohesive suite of tools for website quality assurance, accessibility, brand and content compliance, user consent management and more.

  • Dashboards offer insights into your domain's activities with clear and user-friendly control panels that serve as the hub of the platform.
  • Quality assurance and search engine optimization allow users to identify and address website issues, including broken links, spelling errors and readability concerns. The SEO tool pinpoints factors that have an impact on your site's performance, and it prioritizes issues based on severity. Pre-recorded SEO webinars are included to support self-education.
  • The statistics tool, essential for web managers, features an intuitive and easily navigable interface, simplified data analysis, customizable reports and extensive tracking capabilities. It also enables users to track popular and unpopular pages (including pages with zero visits), set up event tracking and monitor traffic sources.
  • Standard policies and the ability to create custom rules will identify outdated content due to legislative changes or outdated versions. Policies streamline the content creation processes and alert creators promptly when content is outdated or inaccurate. This supports the ability to maintain compliance with brand, legal, style and regulatory standards. The tool includes a library of pre-made policies and the ability to create custom ones.
  • Inventory all website assets, including documents, links, email addresses and code snippets. Monsido also provides an overview of the accessibility and SEO status of each asset.

Benefits

  • Intuitive dashboards inform and help you understand how users interact with your website so you can make better decisions about website content, page structure, accessibility, SEO and more.
  • The tool tracks progress over time and assists in maintaining and documenting compliance standards.
  • Content that gets the most and least amount of traffic is easy to identify with the statistics tool.
  • Create and monitor policy rules easily.
